Session fees

What does
therapy cost?

Ongoing individual therapy is $300 per 50-minute session. For individual therapy, the initial assessment is a longer, 75-minute appointment at $425, with time to discuss your history, concerns, goals, and whether the practice is an appropriate fit. New clients who begin care through this website are private pay. Existing clients and clients seen through other platforms keep their current fees and agreements. Fees are confirmed before you begin.

Right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges

If you are uninsured or are not using insurance to pay for care, you have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. Ask for one before scheduling or before care begins. The estimate includes expected charges for the planned services; the session prices on this page are not an individualized estimate.

For care scheduled 3–9 business days ahead, the estimate is due within one business day of scheduling. For care scheduled 10 or more business days ahead, it is due within three business days. You may request an estimate before scheduling and receive it within three business days.

If a bill from a provider is at least $400 more than that provider’s estimate, you may be eligible for the federal patient-provider dispute process. Start the dispute within 120 calendar days of the date on the initial bill. Keep a copy of your estimate and bill.

For questions about these rights, visit CMS No Surprises resources or call 1-800-985-3059.

For administrative questions about an estimate, contact the practice at (661) 525-5207 · millie@thestablemindmhs.com.

Payment & practice policies

Know what
to expect.

Clear expectations help protect your time and the time reserved for your care. Review these terms alongside the full consent and practice agreement before your first appointment. Read client rights, credentials, and notices.

These policies apply to new private-pay clients who begin care through this website. Your full intake documents are provided through SimplePractice before care begins.

Session fees & payment

The initial individual assessment is $425 for 75 minutes. Ongoing individual therapy is $300 for 50 minutes. Payment is due at the time of service. Accepted payment methods are cash, Venmo/Zelle, and credit/debit cards processed through SimplePractice. Payment arrangements are confirmed before scheduling. Fees and formats for extended sessions, consultations, and groups are agreed upon before booking.

Cancellations & rescheduling

Notice. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. This means 24 actual hours, including weekends and holidays: for a Monday appointment at 2 p.m., notice is due by Sunday at 2 p.m. Both times refer to the time zone shown for that appointment in your scheduling confirmation. Call (661) 525-5207 and leave a voicemail if Millie is unavailable. Notice is measured from when your call or voicemail is received, rather than when it is returned. Cancellation or rescheduling notice must be given by phone or voicemail; email or text does not count as cancellation notice.

No-shows and late cancellations. If you have not joined or contacted the practice by phone or voicemail within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time, the appointment is considered a no-show. Clients are responsible for joining on time and calling (661) 525-5207 if delayed, leaving a voicemail if Millie is unavailable. Email or text does not count as notice that you are running late; Millie is not required to call or send a reminder before marking an appointment as a no-show. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full fee for the reserved appointment: $300 for an ongoing individual session or $425 for the initial assessment. These charges reserve appointment time and are distinct from a completed therapy session.

If Millie cancels or cannot start. No late-cancellation or missed-appointment fee is charged when Millie cancels before the appointment begins, or when a technical failure on the practice’s side prevents the appointment from starting. Any payment for an appointment that does not begin for these reasons is returned or credited with your agreement.

If a practice-side technical failure interrupts care. If a technical failure on the practice’s side interrupts an appointment after care begins and neither video nor telephone can continue, Millie charges only for the care delivered, in proportion to the scheduled appointment fee and length. Any payment for the unused portion is returned, or credited with your agreement. No additional late-cancellation or no-show fee applies. The clinical record and billing reflect the actual care, time, and modality provided.

If your connection fails. If a client-side internet, device, or connection failure prevents completion of an appointment after it has started, the full reserved appointment fee applies: $300 for an ongoing individual session or $425 for the initial assessment. No additional no-show fee is added to that appointment. The clinical record reflects the actual care and time provided.

If care continues by phone. If video fails and the appointment continues by telephone, the full reserved appointment fee still applies and the original end time remains in effect. Switching to telephone does not reduce the fee or extend the appointment.

Appointment time

Your appointment reserves a specific length of time. Arriving late may reduce the time available for your session. Requests for a longer appointment must be discussed and scheduled in advance.

Telehealth & privacy

Appointments begin by video through SimplePractice. Attend from a private space with reliable internet while physically located in California, Florida, or Utah. Do not share your session link with anyone unauthorized to attend. Before care begins, you and Millie confirm a backup phone number and the phone-backup procedure, including whether telephone care is clinically appropriate, permitted by applicable rules, and covered by your telehealth consent.

If you cannot connect or your connection drops, promptly call (661) 525-5207 and leave a voicemail if Millie is unavailable. During the scheduled appointment, you and Millie will briefly try to reconnect, up to five minutes within the remaining appointment time. If video cannot be restored, Millie will call the agreed backup number to try to finish the appointment by telephone when appropriate and permitted. This applies whether the video problem is on the client's side or Millie's side. The original appointment end time remains in effect, and the full reserved fee applies when the appointment continues by telephone.

If telephone care is unsuitable or unavailable, the appointment ends and another appointment may be scheduled. Reporting a client-side outage does not automatically waive an appointment fee; if a client-side failure prevents completion after the session starts, the full reserved fee applies without an additional no-show charge. The clinical record reflects the actual care and time provided.

A disconnected session involving a safety concern is handled under the client's emergency plan rather than the routine reconnection time limit. Millie confirms your identity and current location at each appointment and reviews emergency resources near you. If telehealth care is unsuitable, she discusses appropriate referrals, including in-person care with another provider when needed.

Between-session communication

Email is for scheduling and administrative questions, rather than therapy discussions or emergencies. Cancellations count only by phone or voicemail at (661) 525-5207; email or text does not count as cancellation notice. Office contact hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific Time, excluding holidays. Millie aims to return calls within one business day when possible. Weekend and holiday messages are addressed during the next business day. Messages are not monitored continuously, and an immediate response is not guaranteed. For immediate emotional support, call or text 988; for a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Letters & form completion

Documentation services start at $75, with a final quote after the documents are reviewed. Turnaround is up to one week after all required information is received. Before work begins, Millie explains the scope, final quote, and when a charge is earned. Any advance payment for work not performed is returned. Revisions caused by incorrect or missing client-supplied information carry a $25 surcharge, disclosed before the revision is made; corrections of Millie’s own errors carry no revision fee. A request does not guarantee that a letter or certification can be provided: it must be clinically appropriate and supported by the assessment. These fees do not apply to requests to access existing clinical records.

Ending or transitioning care

You may end treatment or seek a second opinion. If Millie needs to end or transfer care, she discusses the reason, appropriate notice, safety needs, and referral or continuity options. Missed visits do not automatically end care without review and communication.

Confidentiality & records

Your intake documents explain confidentiality, its legal limits, records access, and authorizations for sharing information. Confidentiality has exceptions, including legally required reporting and applicable safety duties. Access to records is handled separately from optional paperwork services; see your records rights.

Common questions

A few things
to know.

Do you offer in-person appointments?

The Stable Mind offers telehealth appointments and no in-person appointments. Sessions begin by video, with an agreed telephone backup if video fails.

What happens after I request care?

Millie reviews your request before an appointment is confirmed. If the practice appears to be an appropriate fit, you receive next steps for intake and scheduling. Additional information may be requested first.

Does a request guarantee an appointment?

No. A request is reviewed for fit and availability. Submitting an inquiry does not establish a therapist-client relationship.
